White sands, turquoise waters and blazing sunshine – we’re completely obsessed with all things holiday. We’ve decided to fuel our daydreams even further, and caught up with one of our very own Sales and Marketing Execs, Emma, to get the scope on her idea of paradise: THE GREEK ISLANDS. Having family over there, she’s been holidaying there for years and so we think she must be a bit of an expert. Here’s what she had to say…

Hey Emma! You’re obviously in love with Greece – what’s so great about it?

Everything! A lot of my family live there so obviously that’s the best thing – but others would be the Greek cuisine (can’t get enough!), the friendly people and of course the beautiful weather and beaches!

Are you all about cities or the beach?

Both – day trip – boat trip – beach days

We want to go! Where should we visit? Do you have a favourite island?

Okay so first things first – you must visit the place all Greeks look to with pride – the Acroplis! A main part of Greek history, with the views from the top it’s a must see. They recently built a museum too which is fab.

Another spot to visit is Sivota – 5 hours from Athens but worth the drive. You can rent a small boat and sale around the island of Paxos – Sivota is considered a real gem on the coast line with its bright blue waters.

Then after that you can hop on a ferry at the port in Athens to my favourite island, Mykonos!

How would you describe your holiday style?

I would describe my style as laid back but chic.

I stick to white (a lot), nude, bronzes – all natural tones. With a hint of colour or black at night for an occasion. I don’t like to make too much effort on holiday but the great thing about my Pia Rossini pieces is that they look luxurious in their design but require minimal effort, just pop them on! The Casablanca tunic was one of my favourites – it doubled up as a bikini cover up – but could easily be tucked into white denim short for dinner as a cute top.

Tell us about the food! What should we eat there?

My favourite traditional food is Calamari, with lemon juice squeezed on top and you can’t beat a good Greek salad (extra olives!) Another favourite is Spanicopita – it’s a Greek snack and is basically a filo pastry pie with spinach and feta cheese – very tasty!

And drinks? We’ve heard some pretty scary things about ouzo (!)

Haha ouzo ! Most locals mix it with water and sip at it – it has an extremely strong liquorice taste – so you’ll either love it or hate it! For me one sip is enough… I prefer cocktails – A for Athens is a rooftop bar with a great cocktail list and whilst you sip on your mojito you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Acropolis lit up at night!
